Hot Redundancy (Cluster Aware)

Looking for high availability, hot redundant solutions? The AMAG Cluster Aware security management module offers a fully hot redundant (also referred to by Microsoft® as "clustered") solution for mission critical security requirements for use with either the Symmetry Enterprise or Symmetry Global Editions.

Microsoft Clustering technology links individual servers physically and programmatically. This linking coordinates communication between them so they can provide a high availability database. Should any one server stop functioning, a process called "fail-over" automatically shifts its workload to the second server to provide continuous service.

The AMAG Cluster Aware module leverages Microsoft's Clustering technology to provide two methods to provide a greater reliability and an increased percentage of up time. First is using Microsoft Clustering to link to servers together in an "active/passive" method so that in the event of any type of server failure, the alternative, or secondary, server will continue to operate without human intervention.

The second redundancy solution, which is not included in the AMAG Clustering Module, requires the use of the Symmetry Global access control system. This solution uses multiple servers distributed across a LAN/WAN to distribute the processing and data availability so that large enterprise system have no single point of failure. Reliability can be increase further by using the AMAG Cluster Aware module at each regional server.
