From the Desk of David Sullivan
If you have been a reader of my previous contributions to Scoop, you would recall that I wrote about the AMAG management team working to update our business strategy and three-year business plan. We recently completed our work, and I am pleased to provide you with an update today.
As a partner of AMAG, you know that our product range is diversified and robust. Our broad Symmetry portfolio includes a PSIM in Control Room; an Identity Management solution in CONNECT; an Access Control solution in Symmetry Access Control; a Visitor Management solution in Symmetry GUEST; a Video Management Solution in Symmetry CompleteView; and Business Intelligence in our business analytics capabilities. When coupled with the fact that we build our own panels and readers, our ability to provide users with an end-to-end solution is unmatched. We intend to build on this portfolio by ensuring that all of our solutions seamlessly integrate to provide the user with a single user interface for all of our applications. However, we will not stop there. In our next generation of access control solutions, we will make it easier to integrate with third-party applications as well, opening our solutions to a unified approach with the integrated applications that end users desire. With our next generation of Symmetry Access, we will change the way in which we will secure the data that is captured and managed in our systems, revolutionizing the way in which access control is approached and implemented with the objective to provide higher security through systems that are easy to purchase, configure and deploy.
Our vision does not end with product development and includes added services. As technology advances, so does the challenge to sell and install. End-user workflows are becoming increasingly demanding, requiring systems that can adapt and align with their operational needs. We will build out an infrastructure that is designed to support and supplement the valuable role that our channel partners play in our offering. We will be there to augment the selling process where requested. Our delivery team will be ready to assist our customers when needed. By providing tiered service programs we will span many service levels, allowing customers to choose service that matches their expectations and needs.
There is so much more to our business plan and we are beginning its implementation as I write. I look forward to sharing our progress over the coming months and years, and am excited about the new future and vision for AMAG. I know as our business partners and customers you too will be enthusiastic about the direction we will be taking AMAG Technology.

Reader Obsolence of 848 and 849 Readers
The manufacture of these readers has now ceased due to component obsolescence. These readers remain available to buy while stocks last. Based on normal sales of these models, we estimate all remaining stock will be consumed by the end of 2024.

Symmetry Integrates with Aperio LOCKS v3
Symmetry now supports v3 Aperio LOCKS using EN-LDBU v2 hardware running V4.05 firmware. It works with all supported Symmetry versions.
The integration includes:
1. Office Mode Schedules in excess of 7 Hours now work correctly.
2. Symmetry Unlock and lock commands sent to V3 Aperio locks will now be performed without needing to present a card at the reader.
3. Node version number is now correctly displayed in the Symmetry Node status screen.
4. Resolved issue with cards with incorrect Customer Codes wrongly being granted access.

Symmetry Mobile v1.27.6 adds Offline Credential Functionality and Improved Filter Options
Symmetry Mobile v1.27.6 will improve the flexibility of the application by introducing more configurations both in the Admin portal and Sync Tool. It also improves the security and performance of the application.
Offline Line Credential Enhancements
Credential groups can now disable the offline Credential Lifetime and Removal options. This will prevent credentials from being disabled or removed if they are not able to connect back to the main server. This can be a frustrating occurrence if the cardholder only uses the mobile application once and a while. By disabling this functionality for credential groups assigned to these cardholders, this frustration can be eliminated. Read More
Symmetry GUEST and CONNECT add Support for Active Directory Authentication
The newest versions of Symmetry CONNECT Identity Management and Symmetry GUEST
Visitor Management add support for authentication via Active Directory when the system is installed on-premises.
Support for Active Directory Authentication
On-Premises customers can set up and configure their system to authenticate users against their Active Directory (LDAP) systems. Administrators can select this option over the basic user authentication or SAML-based single sign-on options. Read More.
