Leading with Humility: Let Your Team Shine

By Kyle Gordon, EVP of Sales, Marketing and Commercial Excellence, AMAG Technology

At the ACS25 event, I had the opportunity to reflect on a lesson I’ve learned throughout my career: leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about knowing when you don’t.

I’ve been fortunate to work with some incredible people, and one of the biggest takeaways has been the power of authenticity. I’ve learned to bring my true self to the job every day and to be comfortable admitting when I’m not the expert in the room. In fact, if I ever am the smartest person on the team, we’re in a bad spot.

I’m decent at strategy and talking to people—but if we’re discussing product specifics and you’re looking to me for the solution, something’s gone wrong. That’s why I believe in saying early and often: “I don’t know the answer to this.” And that’s okay.

Leadership means creating space for your team to step in, shine, and lead. When we allow others to bring forward solutions—and then celebrate them for doing so—we all win.

At AMAG Technology, that’s the culture we strive for. We lead together, grow together, and succeed together.
