Valued partners,
I cannot believe that another year has passed, and this will be our last newsletter of the year. I thought I would take a journey back through 2024 and capture the highlights from the year.
Our year began in January with a strategic planning meeting with our key partner Salient, establishing our go-to-market strategy and our mutual development path. A great start to the year. Later that month the executive management team met to update our strategy and 3-year business plan, bringing forward our vision and direction.
2024 brought us many new things in both products, services and branding, and when written in a single list, it is impressive.
- We reintroduced our complete product portfolio, bringing attention to all of our products in a single graphic.
- We introduced the AMAG Financial Services program, providing leasing alternatives for our partners to offer their customers.
- We finalized our vision for our future Symmetry Access product.
- We released our Apple and Google Wallet credentials.
- We expanded and refined our approach to solution selling, installation and support.
- At ISC West, we revealed our new booth.
- We updated our website.
- Introduced our new, dynamic Partner Portal.
- We restarted our SES customer event, and this year, we premiered our first SES Europe with great success.
- Revamped our support escalation process to improve our customer experience.
- We relaunched both Symmetry CONNECT Identity Management and Symmetry GUEST Visitor Management to a high level of market interest.
- Began our factory upgrade.
- Revamped our social media presence with an emphasis on video content.
- Along with many other smaller projects and improvements.
All of the above are a result of our Drive for 2025 and beyond program, preparing us to become an even better partner to you for 2025 and beyond!
Thank you for your support and loyalty. We deeply appreciate your business. We are dedicated to continually improving to be your best business partner.
We wish you a happy holiday season, and look forward to a mutually prosperous 2025!
Dave

AMAG Quality Assurance – Known Issue Statement: Symmetry Blue 9xx-KP / ETxx-KP Reader Keypad LED failures
At AMAG Technology, ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction is our top priority. We want to inform you about a known issue affecting the Keypad LEDs in certain Symmetry Blue 9xx-KP and ETxx-KP Readers.
Quality Issue:
AMAG’s supply chain has used two vendors for LED (Light Emitting Diodes) in our keypad reader design since product inception in 2016:
- An LED from Inolux and an LED from QTB
- These two LEDs had been used interchangeably without any quality issues
- In 2023, AMAG began receiving reports of Keypad LEDs failing in the field after several months of use
- Our analysis showed – Ion migration internal to the LED, with degradation in the internal bond wire of the LED.
- The degradation is only seen on LEDs shipped from Inolux
- Devices shipped in the same time frame from QTB show no issues
- In collaboration with our supply chain, we were able to trace the range of LEDs to an affected batch of devices manufactured from March of 2022 through to October of 2023
- This equates to devices with the first four digits in the Serial Number ranging from 0411 – 0527
Corrective Action:
- Once the problem was identified and understood, AMAG quarantined any Keypad Readers with the Inolux LED and began shipping only the devices with the QTB LED
- As a result, all boards shipped with a Serial Number starting with 0528 have a known good (QTB) LED
RMA Process for Affected Customers:
Please contact technical.support@amag.com with the reader/s name and the quantity affected. This will generate an RMA number; our customer service team will work to get you advance replacements asap.
Regarding faulty readers there are two options:
- Supply the serial numbers and dispose of the readers.
- Collate the faulty readers for return and we will help to arrange shipping (at our cost). You will need to supply weights and dimensions, we will supply shipping labels/paperwork to allow you to arrange collection with your local UPS.
For any questions, please contact your sales representative or the relevant customer service department, see our website for contact details: www.amag.com/contact-us.
